My House, My World

Would you prefer a reading nook or an art, craft, photography studio? I’d prefer a reading nook for I would like to have a cozy reading/writing area for when i’m in the mood to read or when I’m blogging or writing in my journal etc. like a library type room with a vaulted ceiling half glass to make the room feel more open. Then a different place to do all my arts and crafts, a place that has double glass doors going outside so that I can enjoy nature while i’m doing my art/craft. Right now I do it all in the same room and it gets kind of strung against each other and I only have a small window in it and it makes me feel like i’m enclosed from the outside..

Would you prefer the TV in the living room or another room? I do not watch TV much so it’s ok to be in the living room. I spend the majority of my time at home in my own little getaway room where my desk/computer is and where I do all my reading/writing/business, craft and crocheting at. Unless i’m cleaning house or cooking food or watching a movie with my other half.

What color would you like your bedroom to be? I would love my bedroom to be the colors of earth, brown, green, blue and white. I am always at my calmest when in the woods, ie camping, fishing or at the park. I think those colors would be the most soothing for relaxing/sleeping.

Would you prefer a one floor house or multiple levels? I would prefer a split level house, with joining glass doors going out to a two level deck. Fenced back yard, and a glorious flower garden I myself designed. maybe a little pond with some koi in it.

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up? I’m grateful to have been able to see my son that I have not seen in almost two years, just seeing how much he had grown since I last saw him and how mature he has gotten, oh my goodness they grow up way to fast ! He will be 21 in May. I am looking forward to raising more money for charities next week as we have two dinners to do and our weekly meeting at the Eagles.

Grandma Ilas Horses (weekly challenge, objects)

When my grandma Ila was still alive she would paint those paint by number pictures. When she passed away I inherited all those paintings in which she had made frames for out of wood. Most of those paintings were of horses.

Above my computer desk hanging on the wall is my favorite, I’ll sit and stair at that painting for hours. The painting is of 1 mare and a colt. The colt is standing about half way under the mares neck and they are in a stable stall with multicolored hay in it, the walls are painted with three different shades of green and is made out of wood. The colt stands about 4 hands is two toned brown with a long black mane and tail. The mare stands about 7-8 hands and is mostly white with grey on her hind legs and under her neck she also has a long white mane and tail.

The painting is a little rough like canvas,it’s a rectangular shape and is roughly about 30 inches in length and about 20 inches in width. The homemade frame is wood and was painted dark brown. She used tiny picture nails to keep the frame around the painting and used twine hooked around two of the nails in order to hang them on the wall. The painting is not very big nor is it worth any amount of money but when I look at it, it takes me back to when I use to help my grandma Ila in her sewing room which is where she had the horse paintings displayed proud, she taught me how to sew on her antique sewing machine that I’m proud to say I also own now. machine.
